CIL825 is a compact M12 lens with a 2.5mm effective focal length and F/2.4 aperture. It covers 115° field of view, supports sensors up to 1/2.5", projects a 6.4mm image circle, and is rated for 6MP with 2.2μm pixels. The whole assembly weighs only 4g, so it fits small camera modules without making the mechanics awkward.

The defining feature is the stereographic rendering. The lens is specified at -11% TV distortion in 4:3 at 6.0mm, and that gives you a wide image without the heavy edge stretching you get from more aggressive fisheye mappings. If you want a wide scene that still looks natural to a human reviewer, this tradeoff is usually more useful than chasing the maximum possible angle.

The construction uses a hybrid glass/plastic stack in an AL6061 barrel. Two mechanical variants are listed: a short-barrel M12A and a long-barrel M12B, and neither version includes ingress protection. The lens fits systems using roughly a 6mm to 9mm tall holder, which helps when z-height is tight.

The appeal is straightforward. The CIL825 gives you wide coverage, moderate distortion, low mass, and 6MP support in one small package. That makes it a good match for compact cameras where image geometry matters more than getting a full fisheye look.
