16mm M12 Lens for sensors up to 1/2" such as OX05B1S

The CIL161 is an IR corrected 16mm M12 lens for 1/2" sensors, resolving 3-5MP at 2.2μm pixel pitch. It gives you a 28.8° field of view at the 8.0mm image circle, so the lens is a strong choice for license plate recognition, perimeter surveillance, and long-range inspection where detail at distance matters more than wide coverage. At F/2.0, it still gathers enough light for day and night systems that cannot afford a very slow telephoto.

Distortion is -0.3% rectilinear, so straight edges stay straight enough for OCR, measurement, and other geometry-sensitive tasks. The IR correction keeps the focal plane stable across visible and near-IR wavelengths, which matters if a day and night camera uses an RGBIR sensor like the OX05B1S. That stability lets the system switch illumination bands without mechanical refocus.

The lens uses all-glass optics in an aluminum barrel and weighs 5g. That construction holds up better than hybrid plastic designs when an outdoor enclosure cycles between direct sun and overnight cold. The result is not magic, but it is a more stable package for systems that stay in the field.

You can order CIL161-F2.0-M12A650 with a 650nm IRC filter for standard daylight or CIL161-F2.0-M12ANIR without a filter for NIR-sensitive setups. The lens fits FLIR Blackfly S, Allied Vision Alvium, iDS uEye LE, The Imaging Source, and Basler Dart cameras, while e-con boards need a 10-13mm tall holder.
