Frequently asked questions
What sensors work with the CIL505 C-mount fisheye lens?
The CIL505 supports sensors up to 1.1 inch format with 3.45 micron pixel pitch, including the Sony IMX304 and IMX253. Its 14.2mm image circle covers formats from 1/4 inch through 1.1 inch.
What does IP67 mean on the CIL505?
IP67 means the lens is sealed against dust ingress and can withstand temporary immersion in water. That rating lets you use the optics outdoors without adding extra weather protection around the lens itself.
How much distortion does the CIL505 have?
The CIL505 has -2.3% distortion in f-theta projection. That is moderate for a 180 degree fisheye, and it spreads resolution more evenly across the image than equidistant projection.
What is f-theta projection?
F-theta projection maps the angle of incoming light linearly to image height, h = f × θ. That mapping keeps object proportions more usable near the edge than equidistant or equisolid projection.
Can I use the CIL505 outdoors?
Yes. The IP67 rating and all-glass metal construction make the CIL505 suitable for outdoor surveillance, agricultural monitoring, weather stations, and other exposed installations.
Does the CIL505 work with standard C-mount cameras?
Yes. The standard C-mount thread, 1 inch 32 TPI with 17.526mm flange distance, fits standard C-mount cameras from Basler, FLIR, Lucid Vision, Allied Vision, and others.
